Install GemStone.
On a Macintosh:
If you received an electronic download, extract the GemStone Client Mac Installer into a temporary folder on the Macintosh computer for installation. Then, launch the installer program and follow directions on the screen.
If you received an installation CD, insert the CD and double click on the installer package. Then follow the directions on the screen.
On a PC:
If you received an electronic download, extract the GemStone Client Windows Installer into a temporary folder on the Windows computer for installation. Then, launch the installer program and follow directions on the screen.
If you received an installation CD, insert the CD. If a browser does not automatically open, double click on the CD and then double click on default.htm. Dismiss any warning message from the browser. Click on the Install GemStone 1.0 link and follow the directions on the screen.
Redeem the Battery Certificate. 1
Run GemStone.
Click Ok to close the banner dialog.
Choose the Charge Battery command in the Battery menu.
Select the Redeem Battery Certificate via the Wizard option2.
Click Nex.
Enter the Battery Certificate Code.
Click Next.
