Installation and Activation
This page describes how to install the components that make up the Multi-User Starter Pack for Macintosh. If you need additional assistance, please click here to use the Support Request form. The complete GemStone User Guide is also available online.
There are 3 components to this package:
In addition, you received several activation codes:
- Serial Number/CDKey for Battery Server for GemStone Mac
- Battery Certificate for the number of charges you purchased
If you purchased the downloadable version, extract the components from the download. Each component is used for a different type of installation, described below.
Battery Server for GemStone Mac
This software must be registered using the serial number provided with the purchase, and can only be installed on one computer.
The Battery Server should be running on a computer 24/7 to allow GemStone Client installations to draw battery charges.
Extract the Battery Server for GemStone Mac Installer into a temporary folder on the Macintosh computer for installation.
Then launch the installer program and follow directions on the screen.
After installation, launch the program and use the Registration Wizard to activate it with the Serial Number provided. Then use the Charge Battery command in the Battery menu to redeem your Battery Certificate.
GemStone Client for Mac
Install this component on any Macintosh computer that will be used for GemStone analysis.
This software can be installed on any number of Mac computers. It requires battery charges from the Battery Server or charges
purchased separately in order to analyze files.
Extract the GemStone Client Mac Installer into a temporary folder on the Macintosh computer for installation.
Then, launch the installer program and follow directions on the screen.
After installation, launch the program and use the Charge Battery command in the Battery menu to draw battery charges from your Battery Server.
GemStone Client for Windows
Install this component on any Windows computer that will be used for GemStone analysis.
This software can be installed on any number of Windows computers. It requires battery charges from the Battery Server or charges
purchased separately in order to analyze files.
Extract the GemStone Client Windows Installer into a temporary folder on the Windows computer for installation.
Then, launch the installer program and follow directions on the screen.
After installation, launch the program and use the Charge Battery command in the Battery menu to draw battery charges from your Battery Server.
